Aching joints after FEC_T

Hi All

i am after some advice, I am due my last chemo on Friday the T part, I've had 3 of FEC and 2 of the T, I also had a lumpectomy and a node clearance earlier on the year. I am now suffering with shoulder blade pain and just wanted to ask if anyone else has suffered with this, also a lot of joint pain, I am also due 2 weeks of radiotherapy after my last chemo.

thanks for any advice xxxx

  • Hello and thanks for posting on the forum

I am sorry to hear you are currently having treatment for breast cancer and are experiencing some pain.

Hopefully some other people going through something similar to you will jump on here and share their experiences with you as well.

We have information about the possible side effects including joint pain in particular with the T (docetaxel) part of the chemotherapy here. It is important to also mention this to your specialist team when you see them so they can assess and advise you on pain medications and other things that may help.

Unfortunately shoulder blade pain is also quite a common side effect from all treatments including the surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. This should ease with time but again do mention it to your doctor when you next see them.

Please get back if you have further questions or you are welcome to call our nurse helpline on 0808 800 4040 Monday-Friday 9-5 if you wish to talk things through over the phone instead.

Wishing you all the best with the rest of your treatment

    Take care

    Naomi
