Hi my partner got reffered to dermatology about a month ago for suspected melanoma upon seeing the consultant she said it looks like early stage melanoma but needs a biopsy to be certain and then she said but I do look at hundreds of melanomas everyday my question is she must be pretty confident that it's early stage because she had no reason to say it otherwise we have an appointment for Tuesday to go back in and the letter was posted on the 19th surely if something was really bad they wouldn't make you wait this long I know the nhs is under pressure with covid etc but I still don't think they would mess about if something needed treating straight away and finally can a dermatologist predict a stage of melanoma just by looking at it sorry for all the questions what would be classed as early stage melanoma I'm guessing insitu or stage1
