Bleeding and brown is discharge sing Loop treatment t

Hi 

I have had Loop treatment on the 07/10/2021 and had Interourse 7 weeks later there was no problem. But now 8-9 weeks in I have small amount of clear blood when I pee, and during sex brow very thick vaginal ddischarge.i don't feel pain, feel tired the last 3 weeks since but I am not sure that's because of that or higher stress level. Is this something I have to worry about ? I didn't have a follow up appointment with a doctor she just said I will have to go to the GP in  6 months time for another smear test. Help please

    I would definitely follow up with the gp as it's bothering you. It won't hurt to get some advice and help. Will put your mind at ease. 

     

    I would suggest getting another gp appointment and following it up from there.

    I am sorry to hear that you have had the loop procedure and that you are experiencing some symptoms.

    Bleeding after sex can be quite common after this procedure and can go on, in some cases for several months. The discharge and blood  that you are experiencing may mean that you have an infection but of course I can't be sure so do make an appointment with your GP so you can get checked out.  They may want to take a swab and give you a course of antibiotics.

    The charity Jo's Trust has some useful information on what to expect after this procedure. It is not uncommon to have some bleeding after sex as the area starts to heal and form a scab. Have a look at the information here
