Breast cancer

Hi lovely ladies!

about a week ago I went to the doctors for a lump in my left breast about a pea size which has since decreased in size however she felt both breasts and noticed the lump and in my right breast she said my tissue was more dense? Is this normal? I have my scan tommorw but I can't help but think I have breast cancer that has possibly spread due to my breast tissue being like that for about 2 years!

im 22 and I'm Petrified please any advice would be appreciated

  • Hi and thanks for posting

It can be scary having tests and going to a breast clinic, but the majority of people attending will not have breast cancer. It's also very uncommon for someone of your age to have breast cancer.

It's natural to have dense breast tissue under the age of 40 and it's why they don't do mammograms until after this age. Ultrasounds will show up any areas of concern and if necessary they can do a biopsy, although this won't always be done .You can also ask questions at the clinic, so do feel able to do so.

    All the best
