Although biopsy results can take two or three weeks to come through, very occasionally they will be back within a week. Waiting for results is very stressful, and it's natural to feel scared especially with the added stress of supporting your sister with terminal cancer.

Most people are given an appointment time to come in to get their results. Although the text you received mentioned a breast surgeons name, it’s quite normal to see them or one of their team on the day.

I’m afraid until you see the specialist team and know the biopsy results, and any other tests they think might be necessary will you know more.

Waiting in circumstances like this is never easy but I’m afraid there is no real way round this. Some people find taking it one step at a time and talking it through with friends can sometimes help. But until you know more it’s natural to worry.
