My daughter's husband and baby died within a week of each other

My daughter married her terminally fiance on September 25th. Three days later their beautiful baby died and a week after that her husband died. The grief is immence for both losses. The question I have is there any way a dying man going through four types of chemo treatments could have contributed to the baby's death?

  • Hello ValerieF and thanks for posting

I'm so very sorry to hear about the death of your son in law and baby grandchild. Please accept our sincere condolences at what must be an incredibly difficult time for you all.

Your son in law having chemotherapy would not have contributed to your baby grandchild’s death. I hope this gives you some comfort to know this.

When you have unanswered questions like this, we would usually advise you to speak to the team involved in your son in law’s care. They are better placed to advise you as they will be familiar with all his medical details and will be in a better position to answer your questions.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
