Lung module

I was diagnosed with a lung nodule 11mm x7mm in size should I be concerned?

  • Hello and thanks for your post

I’m afraid no one on this forum can tell you if your lung nodule is anything to worry about. But lung nodules are quite common and are often nothing to worry about. If people without health problems were scanned many would be found to have nodules in organs including the lungs. In many cases these are benign (non-cancer related) and often they will disappear on their own.

Doctors follow clinical guidance when looking at lung nodules. This helps them to decide what types of nodules need to be followed up to see if they change.  It is often the case of repeating scans and monitoring any changes in the nodules.

There is some information written by the NHS on lung nodules which you may find helpful to read. Have a look here.

I think the best thing to do would be to talk things over with your doctor. They should be able to tell you what the next steps are as they have all your medical details.

I hope this helps. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything through. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes,

    Celene
