I'm not a nurse but I've been a melanoma patient for many years. The nurses won't be back until tomorrow so I thought I would answer your question while you are waiting.

Please make an appointment with your GP.. They will decide if you need to be seen by a consultant and will refer you. It would normally be dermatology (for a mole) but because of it's location it will probably be gynaecology. Vulva melanoma is not common so hopefully it will be something easily treated. Yes, do go and see your GP. If they assess it , and think that a referral is necessary, then it will probably be to the hospital gynaecology department.

A lot of the time, these things are not serious, but it is sensible to go and be checked out, for peace of mind.
