Worried following endoscopy/colonoscopy

Hi all

I had an endoscopy and a colonoscopy yesterday morning. During the colonoscopy they took 8 random biopsies and removed a 7mm polyp and also sent that off to be biopsied although they did say it was benign. However on my endoscopy they discovered a leision, they said they've sent off 4 biopsied of this and that I need an endoscopic ultrasound and a CT scan.

Is it routine for them to sent you for a EUS and CT following finding a leison? I'm worried they already think it's cancer if they are already ordering more tests before biopsies are back.

Does anyone have any experience of this please?

Thank you

It is always difficult waiting for the results of scans and test, so I can understand you wondering if you can draw any conclusions from the doctors arranging additional scans.  But at the end of they day, until you get results from the biopsies you wont know what is going on.  We often get people asking us about the word lesion and how significant that is, but essentially it just means that the doctors can see something that doesn't look right and they need to biopsy it to check it out.  So try not to second guess what the results of the biopsies might be, there still could be a number of different possibilities.  The good thing is that all this is getting sorted out for you and you should know soon what the situation is.

But I do understand how hard it is waiting to find out.

    Take care
