Yet another worry

Hello again, I have my lumpectomy date on Tuesday (only found out yesterday) but I have blisters on tongue and pos broken tooth root infection. But no time to get get antibiotics.

Worried I won't be able to have my op due to possible infection spread.

Does anyone know when they are likely to cancel a vital operation?

I don't want to wait any longer. As waiting list may be longer.

Thank you in advance

  • Hi Tabicat

Could you call dentist tomorrow and explain I'm sure most have emergency appointments.

If not you would need to contact breast nurse and see what they say.

    Xx

  • Hi Tabicat

Do you think the worry & stress of your upcoming appointment might be giving you some symptoms of an infection:-The fear of it all, possibly highlighting everything?

I have a broken tooth, a tooth that's been filled so many times because the filling keeps coming out & now i just leave it be, unfilled & yes it can be prone to infection, but i swear by natural antibiotics, garlic, salt water, special gingivitus prevention mouthwashes etc, so no need for antibiotics thank God thus far Oh & plenty of vitamin c & zinc:-all fight infections

Wishing you the very best of luck

    Hope this helps

  • Hi and thanks for posting

I can appreciate that this is a worry, but you will really need to get in touch with the clinic today or ask to speak to the clinical nurse specialist for further advice. They will want to know whether you have any fever, pain and what your current general health is like. Usually you get to see the anaesthetist before an operation who will be asking these questions to assess your fitness for an operation.

If you are not having any outward symptoms from your tooth then it may be ok, but no one can really say without you talking to someone in your team first.

I hope you manage to get through to someone to speak to about this and that all goes well

    All the best

    Wanda
