My mum is 80, and has smoked all her life, on Wednesday she coughed up blood and has slight clubbing of 2 of her fingers. I am worrying myself sick that it is lung cancer. She has a CT scan and I am going out of my mind
,bless you I hope your managing to sleep,I know how precious out mums are to us. I'm praying that your mum will be ok,and its nothing sinister thats going on. But try to stay positive, it might not be as bad as your thinking it is. Hope you get answers soon. Do let us know on here how things go. I am sorry to hear you are so worried about your mum - that's really stressful and difficult waiting for results to come back from scans and tests.
The CT scan will show if there are any areas of concern - at this stage although your mind tends to jump to worst case scenarios, you do just have to wait and see. It hopefully won't be much longer but sometimes cases are discussed at what is called an MDT(multi disciplinary meeting, made up of different health professionals) and this means that the wait is a little longer.
