Blue bumpy periurethral lump

Hello,

I discovered a large (approx 2cm) round bumpy lump inside my vagina. It appears to be attached to the back of my urethra, it's not painful and moves to the entrance of my vagina when I exert my pelvic floor muscles. It has a blueish tinge.

I have an appointment with my GP coming up but naturally I'm concerned. I've researched for days and cannot find anything that clearly matches what I have.

I have had persistent pelvic pain for several weeks but no other symptoms. I'm not pregnant nor have I ever been and have strong pelvic floor muscles.

Im trying to not think the worst but a prolapse seems unlikely and it doesn't seem to be a cyst.

Does anyone have suggestions please? The wait for my appointment is sending me google crazy (not good)

Thank you

  • Hi and thanks for your post

Without being examined, it would be impossible for anyone to be able to say what this may be - it's just not possible to diagnose on a forum or looking up symptoms on the internet - you really would need to be seen.

There are usually a number of possible different explanations other than cancer , so try and not overthink things at the moment until you've been seen by the GP.

They can examine you and if necessary, will refer for further tests.

It's hard waiting, but if you can , try and not google as it will only raise your anxiety without being able to tell you what this actually may be.

    All the best

    Wanda

  • Hello,

Thank you so much for your reply. I managed to get seen this morning and am happy to say it's not cancer just a bladder proplapse. Not ideal but I'm certainly relieved.

    Thank you again.
