Hi, I had a partial nephrectomy 5 weeks ago, my wound opened a week after my staples came out and I got a infection. Slowly my wound is closing but I've started with a pain just left of my stomach, it feels like a ball of pain. Also I have some throbbing pain in my back. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or should I get it checked by my gp?

    You can experience some soreness and general ache but not pain.

    So, I would make contact with your GP to get this checked out. Just in case there might be an infection, or a collection of fluid in the area.

    Thank you for your reply. I've rang the doctors this morning,  waiting for a call back. I did have a infection as my wound opened up after my staples where removed but that seems to have cleared up and my wound is slowly closing again. It is pain I'm getting even when taking a deep breath in. Hopefully its nothing to serious.  Thanks again.
