Does anyone know of a weekend nurses HelpLine at all? Seems as if Cancer Research and Macmillan offer during the working week. Any suggestions very welcome.
Yes, our nurses are only available during the week but hopefully some of our members will let you know of any weekend helpline services soon.
If you are seeking medical advice we would recommend getting in touch with the NHS on 111 or trying to contact your GP out of hours service. You can find out more about the different out of hours services the NHS provides just here.
There are many different nurse helplines , depending on the type of cancer that you may be wanting to call about. Macmillan are actually open for practical and clinical information 7 days a week 8-8pm.
Many cancer charities however, will not be open at weekends, although Blood Cancer UK are also open Saturdays 10-1.
Marie Curie which helps support and provide nurses for people who are at the end of their life are also open 11-5. There may well be others ,but we won't be aware of all of the many very different website opening hours.
