I have a line in my right arm. It's been in place since July and up to the past few weeks I've had no real issues. Over the past few weeks it's been niggling me, feeling like I was being pricked under the skin but now it actually hurts. My arm at the insertion site burns and is now keeping me awake day and night. There isn't any obvious signs when you look at the line. I've also developed sweats (but no temperature).
ive begged them to remove it and just use a canola for the chemo and bloods.
I've been to the treatment hospital acute emergency twice and also mentioned it when I have my chemo, but nothing is being done.
I only have one more Chemo, in two weeks and I know the line will be removed but I'm not sure I can cope with the pain for much longer.
is there something I can do to help relieve the pain. I've just finished a course of antibiotics for an infection (related to the cancer but not the line).
sorry to moan, my family and friends are sympathetic but they don't understand.
