Lump left side of buttock

hi everyone,

I'm 25 and today have found a lump deep under my skin you have to press quite hard to feel it it isn't visible if you look. It's on my left bum cheek towards my back and is a bit bigger than a pea it's not painful to touch and it's hard. I spoke to a doctor over the phone who said it's probably a cyst but I can't help but worry because they haven't bothered to bring me in to feel it, especially after they let me down a few weeks ago putting off my pain as sciatica and period pains when I had a serious infection that I could of died from if I didn't go to the hospital when I did. I don't know what to do next.

  • Hi and thanks for posting

It's not unusual to sometimes get lumps like these occurring in the body , as quite often they do turn out to be fatty lumps like lipomas or cysts. However, it's understandable that you may be concerned and reasonable to want to get it checked out.

If the lump is still there next week , do ring the GP again and have a chat about your concerns and that you would feel more reassured if it was examined. If you prefer, you can always see if you can speak to another GP in the practice.

    All the best

    Wanda
