Long term cough

Hi, new to the group, wanted to ask a question, ( realise that no one really nos ) but feel like need someone to talk to. Am 54 and tbh health wise been rubbish for over 10 years. In March this year started with constant cough and spoke to my go who advised for covid test before she was willing to see me, anyway test was negative so a brief telephone call next day and gave antibiotics , three weeks later and still no better, she did see me and listening to my chest said it was all clear. Fast track to end of June no better, numerous covid tests and her advice to write diary daily about my cough she referred me to clinic, my appointment was end of July and had chest X-ray which shows haziness and overlying soft tissue shadow on left lung, doctors sent me for spirometer test and a ct scan . I had my ct scan k look ast Thursday and waiting for appointment with respiratory doctor but going out of my mind with worrying. Wondering if anyone else been in similar position. Thanks for reading. X

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

I can appreciate your current concern around your health. Unfortunately, no-one on this forum can really offer anything very specific, as we can't diagnose, or suggest what the matter is. This forum isn't really for people with symptoms, as everyone's situation can be different.

Hopefully, your doctor will soon get to the bottom of things for you. It is important to keep an open mind, as there are always several different medical explanations, for the same type of symptoms.

    Best wishes,

    Vanda
