  • This is absolutely ridiculous. The should not of changing your dates. You should contact the hospital and ask to have your appointment brought forward. It's your health and your life that is important. I hope you get your treatment soon and get better ️ I have my colonoscopy in a couple weeks after testing positive for HPV and abnormal cells. I also am bleedin the last few months and have lower abdominal pain. I'm so scared and I'd be so angry if I was in your shoes. Please ring your hospital. ️ All the best x

  • Hello there

I see you are awaiting your colposcopy appointment after a HPV positive and abnormal smear result. I hope your appointment goes well for you.

Try not to over think things too much for now. Remember the screening programme is all about prevention and picking up abnormality at an early stage where it can be monitored and treated easily. At your appointment they will be able to have a close look at the cervix and take some biopsies and offer you some treatment if needed.

Symptoms can be cause by lots of different things and won't necessarily be linked to this. If of course the symptoms worsten before your appointment do let your doctor know and explain any symptoms you have at your colposcopy clinic.

    Wishing you all the best

    Naomi

  • Hello and thanks for your post

I'm sorry your Lletz procedure has now been postponed to October. I can imagine this must be very frustrating for you.

I'm afraid I can't tell you for sure why this has happened. You would need to contact the hospital to get them to explain. Sometimes if they have staff shortages or are seeing more patients than anticipated then they may have to prioritise and postpone some patients treatment.

Waiting any length of time when you are worried is of course very stressful. But having CIN2 is abnormal cervical cells, not cervical cancer. In this situation, a short delay of a few weeks is very unlikely to make much difference to people who need a lletz procedure.

I hope you know more about your situation soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
