Post menopausal bleeding

Hi

just wondering if anyone has experienced multiple post menopausal bleeding?
I went through the menopause very fast aged 46, lasted two weeks. No bleeding in four years. Today I started bleeding again for the second time in three weeks.
I've seen the Gynae specialist nurse. Ultrasound showed 8mm thickness, but the hystoscopy showed no thickness at all. One tube exit completely covered over. Biopsy taken, but she told me it will probably come back as insufficient sample, as there was nothing there. So I'm confused as to why I'm bleeding again when there is nothing there.
Anyone else had this happen?

Thanks

  • Hello and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about the symptoms you have and appreciate they must be a worry for you.

Symptoms can have a range of different causes and most won't be linked to a cancer but the important thing is that this is being looked into. Whilst other people may have similar stories to you the outcome may be very different so it is often difficult to be able to compare.

You can read more about post menopausal bleeding here. As well as a thickened uterine lining being a possible cause other things like polyps in the cervix or thinning or inflammation in the vagina can also cause bleeding.

Wait and see what the biopsy results come back showing and remember if necessary they will carry out more tests to get some answers to what may be going on.

Do talk to the team looking after you and ask them any questions and share any concerns you may have with them.

I hope you know more soon and that everything will be ok for you.

    Take care

    Naomi

  • Thank you so much for getting back to me. I'm not much of a worrier, more of a question person. You are right, I shouldn't compare my symptoms with others, no two are alike.
I will see what happens and go from there.
Thank you again, truly appreciate it.
