Oval rubbery lump 1cm below back of jaw

I noticed an oval shaped lump about 1cm below the back of my jaw back in January/February and just thought it was a swollen lyphnode and it did not go down after 2 weeks but I was told by friends and family it was probably just a cyst but now its August I thought I would ask a cancer forum for their opinion before booking a doctors appointment.

Hello and thank you for posting
As no one on the forums or elsewhere can diagnose or say what this may be, we would always encourage people who have found something new for them or have noticed a change, to make an appointment with the GP.
They will be able to take a history and/or examine you, with a view to referring you for more tests if necessary.
As the lump is still there after a few months, although it may well be a cyst, as no one will be able to say, do make an appointment.
