I am sorry to learn that you mum has run into problems with her reconstruction.

I'm afraid I don't know what is going on, I wonder if the surgeon said anything - they are in the best position to explain. 

I am aware that there can sometimes be problems following reconstruction, (see what our website  and Breast Cancer Now say  about this), but I am not sure which if any of these might explain what your mum has noticed. 

However it seems that the surgeon is aware and has a plan, so hopefully this will get sorted out and things will improve for your mum. I do hope so.

Sorry for the delay. I am not receiving notifications from the forum for some reason. 

I'm sorry you're going through this. Due to the nature of my mum's DCIS (it was widespread across 14cm) having a mascetomy was her only option. A lumpetcomy was never offered.

Hi thank you for your reply, hope mum is doing OK. Since this post I'm now a week out of mastectomy surgery, and doing fine x
