  • Hi and thanks for the post

It's not possible for anyone to be able to diagnose anyone here on the forum.

We would always encourage people to make an appointment with the GP if they have any new symptoms or are concerned about something they haven't noticed before.

Lumps on the clavicle area and neck can be due to swollen lymph nodes- these can come up in response to infection or inflammation but if they haven't gone away after a few weeks it's best to get them looked at , as sometimes they can appear as a symptom of a cancer. The GP will take your history ,examine the neck, clavicle and breast area and if necessary refer you for further tests.

Do make the appointment , which may be a telephone call initially, but if necessary, the GP will call you in too.

    All the best

  • Hi I got blood test they all came back clear but he said their is a lot of swelling so he is sending me for a scan but I don't know which kind of scan I am getting he was talking about lymphoma but just very casual I forgot to ask what kind of scan it would be can anyone help with this  thank you for your time

  • Hello again and thanks for the reply

It is good to hear the blood tests came back normal but it seems sensible for the doctor to send you for a scan to check out the swelling a little closer.

Usually lumps or swellings are scanned using a external ultrasound scan (see here)  so this is probably what your GP has arranged for you. You could always call the practice to ask them though if you want to be sure.

I hope you appointment comes through and you find out more soon.

Please get back if you need to and I wish you all the best.

    Take care

    Naomi
