I am sorry to hear about your situation and the worry it is causing you.

Most cysts on the ovary are not serious and will often go away on their own, this is why you are being followed up with a another scan and have not been offered surgery (yet). Surgery is usually offered if the cyst is getting bigger, or if it looks like it could be abnormal , or if it is giving symptoms. Also any decision about surgery needs to be carefully thought about in a women who has not had her menopause yet. The CA125 blood test   is not a perfect test to see if someone could have ovarian cancer, a lot of research over the years has looked into this. If it comes back with a higher than normal reading it still does not mean that you would necessarily have cancer as it can be high for many other reasons. 

Be reassured that you are having a follow up ultrasound scan in 4 months to see what is happening with this cyst, this is a normal process and does not mean you will necessarily have cancer.

My blood test came back at 38 - awaiting to hear from the GP - what will the next steps be, I'm really worried!

Hi I also have a raised CA125 48.2 I have a appointment tomorrow for a scan,hysteroscopy and biopsy absolutely terrified.I am however going to opt for a GA for this after reading so many horrific stories.The more you google the more we panic but it's so difficult not to and it's just a waiting game.

Thank you,I got my blood results back 23/08 so not long really.We have a 2 week pathway in cumbria fingers crossed my scan is clear,I guess I will have to wait a bit longer if requesting a GA for hysteroscopy and biopsy.xx

Can I ask why you've chosen a GA?

I am going to request one after reading all the horror stories,I struggle with a smear and no natural child birth and I suffer extreme anxiety.
