Itching on Vulva & Pea Sized lump on Labia Majora

Hi. I am 34 years old and been married for 9 and a half years. Mid January I started itching on the vulva area and tried to rule out a new washing powder so I rewashed all my underwear, and went back to the previous washing powder. Used sudocrem as a moisturiser but no I improvement. I have been put on thrush treatment cream and it's now been two weeks and no change. Only yesterday I noticed a small lump, and I googled the area and it seems it's on the labia majora. I am now extremely worried. It doesn't hurt when touched and is the size of a pea and red. If you were to look for it you wouldn't see it. I only noticed it when putting the cream on, and had trimmed yesterday so if I hadnt trimmed I honestly think I would never have noticed it, which is worrying so could have been there for a while.

I stupidly googled it and now my itching and this lump combined sounds like vulva cancer. I am so scared. The surgery have closed to weekend appointment requests due to the covid vaccination program pressures so I have to wait until tomorrow morning. I have no abnormal discharge and my smear last year came back negative. The skin that is itchy is not in the same area, it's further up but only slightly red and itchy mainly when I am hot. The lump is on my right labia majora parrallel with the clitorus so I'm not convinced it's a gland cyst. Anyone else had this experience before?

  • Hi I had this in January I was so scared got to a point where I couldn't wipe meself properly I went to see a nurse she had a look and it was a cyst..... hopefully u get sorted soon xxx

  • Just wanted to ask did the cyst go away naturally? Is it still there? Did you take any medication for it? And did you do any home remedies?

  • Hiya unfortunately it hasn't gone.. but gone down the nurse said that if it gets any bigger I would have to get it cut off... mine is on the right hand side but it effect my left hand side.. caused a infection nd it swelled...so I had too have antibiotics to take the infection away... I can wipe myself down there now but it still there as when I wipe I feel it..... I don't use remedies I just make sure I drink plenty of water xxx

  • Hiiii, that's unfortunate but we gotta look at it from a positive perspective at least it's not as painful.

my GP gave me antibiotics but she said to take them in the next couple of days if I'm in more pain. My one doesn't hurt apart from when I wipe myself or touch it. I'm just glad hopefully it's nothing more serious. I did ask her if there was surger for it and she said yes but she doesn't think they will do it because it's a size of a pea.

sorry if it's TMI but if your one like bulging out or is faintly visible as my one is not bulging out as much xxx

  • Hi, please tell me this isnt cancer! I'm really worried. I have the same lump in the same place but no itching or redness or soreness. Thank you

  • Well, any updates? Both of you guys dissapeared...

  • Hi, sorry to hear you are experiencing this, my lump ended up being a spot and the itching was seborherric dermatitis that cleared up with the Daktakort steroid antifungal cream. Hope you have some answers now.

  • Hi sorry to jump in your message... I've been suffering with vulva itching for around 6 months now, all creams don't seem to work, after seeing a new (only) mole appear I had a feel around my labia Majora and I can feel a lump, it dosnt hurt and you have to feel around to find it....but just wondered if you had any answers or diagnosis?? Yours is most similar to my symptoms xx

  • Hi,

I sm sorry you are going through this. Fortunately I was given a cream called daktacort, which is a steroid ans anti fungal cream and now I have gotten on top of the itching with a cream called Aveeno Dermexa. It must be seborherric dermatitis or something like that as then had a similar flare up on my armpits and bikini line. The lump turned out to be a spot under the skin like the ones you get on your face that you can't see? It went away after only a few days, typically the day before I got a call back from the doctor. I hope you get it sorted. Sorry I can't be of much help x

  • Hi, thank you so much for replying, I was given Daktacort first which didn't help, then Timodine which is stronger it worked for a week or so then it just came back, I've now got a stronger one but been diagnosed with Litchen Sclerosis on my bottom, but said the itching on my vulva isn't the same ‍♀️.

so glad your on top of it and thanks so much for replying x
