Should I expect the worst?

In September I was put on the 2 week pathway due to elevated ca125. I then had a ultrasound that showed a solid lesion on my ovary. 2 weeks after I had a MRI and 2 weeks after that a ct scan. I found out today that they now want a me to have a hysteroscopy. They haven't given me the reults from the scans apart from saying i have a thickening of my uterus. Are all things pointing to cancer? I feel more anxious about the not knowing and the prolonged testing.

  • Hi there and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about all the tests you are currently undergoing and appreciate the uncertainty and worry this must be for you.

Unfortunately until all the results are in there is no way of knowing what this ovarian lesion or thickened uterine lining may be caused by. It sounds like the doctors are being incredibly thorough, which is good and I am sure as soon as they are able they will discuss what needs to happen next.

Times like this are very unsettling but try and take things one step at a time for now and don't over think things until you have all the information.

Do get back if needed or if you wish to talk things through, give us a call on 0808 800 4040, we're here weekdays 9-5.

Take care and I do hope you know more very soon.

    Naomi
