Brachytherapy is a type of internal radiotherapy, where radiation is delivered directly to the cancer or very close to it. It's understandable to feel worried about the possible side effects. But because the radiation is targeted, it often causes fewer side effects to the rest of the body than external radiotherapy.

Most people do have some side effects, but they are often temporary and manageable. The exact side effects depend on which part of your body is being treated. You can read more about brachytherapy and potential side effects on our website.

I hope this is of some use.Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,
