fake cancer diagnosis

Hi,

Nice to meet everyone..I hope anyone who is having treatment is doing ok.

It's a similar question to the other posts and I think there will be a similar answer to the others.

Am close to someone. She has helped me and basically saved my life.

But she claims to have terminal inoperable bone cancer on her spine..

Sadly, am not convinced. She rarely mentions it.

I went with her to a docs appointment about an infection on her foot. He didnt mention anything else, yet she claims to have missed hospital appointments

She has long blonde hair.. .no way has that grown back in a couple of months. After treatment stopped.

Is there any way of checking without asking her directly ?

Ive told many lies in my life. I would not judge her at all...

I really care about her.

Thankyou,

  • Hello Paul

As she rarely mentions the condition for the sake of your relationship just let it go. Ive got metastatic cancer in my spine and it causes pain all the time a symptom she might develop. If she does not have cancer rejoice that your friend is healthy.

  • Hi there and thanks for the post

I'm afraid no one here can say whether your friend is telling the truth about a cancer diagnosis or not.

You might want to try and have an open and honest conversation with her to find out more.

You may also have mutual friends or other people who know her that you could speak to about this to.

    Best wishes

  • Not everyone who has chemo loses their hair - I had some very strong chemo and didn’t - unusual but not unknown.
Why would she lie to you? If she was working a con, I’d expect her to have asked you for money or something similar.
    Best wishes
