Hello,

How should you be told about having cancer?

Should this always be face to face?

My father was told by letter only .

Just says cancer in your bones and to carry on to the 3rd scan ,which was a PET scan ,the letter arrived after he had already been to this scan.

So not only dealing with diagnosis but shocking way the news was delivered. 

Now trying to speak to someone to get more help and support as no leaflets or exact notes to say what to expect ,having to look up on line.

Would appreciate any help ,suggestions or support.
