My father had lung cancer diagnosis a few years ago he was 54 , he was staged at 3a , he had a right middle lobectomy and lymphadenectomy, the size of it was about 22mm.

There were also some smaller masses on his left lung in the upper lobe which have increased on subsequent scans and lower right lobe, the surgeon felt that he would not be able to tolerate another surgery , he has had no other treatment just the operation to remove the biggest mass. 

He also has severe asthma  and COPD and some other issues.

Have you recently had an operation or are you just wondering if there is any other treatment after one ?

I have been diagnosed with, I have had scans etc I have to go and have a pet scan on Monday then I meet the surgeon as they want to take it out, they can’t do a biopsy as it’s in a difficult place. I have already had breast cancer will be 4 years ago in February 27 I am just wondering if they do radiation or chemo after but I suppose it depends on individuals. Won’t find out if it’s a secondary or new primary until it’s out and tested. Feeling nervous about the op and the after effects I’m 54 and this is my second time. I’ve been very calm so far just angry at cancer! I have moderate emphysema too so worry is increased about the operation risk. My nodule is 18mm. Hope you’re dad is doing well now and thank you for responding x
