After lung cancer surgery having further treatment will depend on the type, and stage of lung cancer, and if a person has any other health conditions that may affect them having further treatment .
If the cancer was found at an early stage and has been completely removed, some people need no further treatment.

The best thing to do is ask the specialist team what the next steps are. They are better placed to advise on this as they are familiar with all the medical details. If there is a specialist lung nurse (CNS) involved then perhaps they can provide further information. You often have to call and leave them a message and they will get back to you.

My father had lung cancer diagnosis a few years ago he was 54 , he was staged at 3a , he had a right middle lobectomy and lymphadenectomy, the size of it was about 22mm.
There were also some smaller masses on his left lung in the upper lobe which have increased on subsequent scans and lower right lobe, the surgeon felt that he would not be able to tolerate another surgery , he has had no other treatment just the operation to remove the biggest mass.
He also has severe asthma and COPD and some other issues.
