  • Hello Acm65, thank you for getting in touch

I am very sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. This must be an incredibly difficult time for you.

It sounds as though you have a lot to cope with at the moment, and you mentioned that you are also living with depression and sleep apnoea.

Given everything that is going on, it is understandable that you are feeling fatigued, unmotivated and lacking in energy. Some of these symptoms may be related to the hormone therapy you are having, as fatigue and low mood can be common side effects of this treatment.

At the same time, you are coming to terms with a cancer diagnosis whilst managing other health conditions. All of these factors can have a significant impact on both your physical and emotional wellbeing.

It may be helpful to discuss how you are feeling with your Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), if you have one. Alternatively, your GP may be able to help. They could review how you are feeling overall and arrange some blood tests to check for possible causes of fatigue, such as anaemia (a low level of haemoglobin, which carries oxygen around the body).

There may also be support available to help you manage the emotional impact of your diagnosis and treatment, particularly if your depression symptoms have worsened.

I hope you can get some support with this. In the meantime, please do get back in touch if you have any further questions or concerns. You are also very welcome to call one of our nurses on the freephone helpline on 0808 800 4040, available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
