Hi everyone. I've been experiencing some worrying symptoms recently, but I'm having troubles getting help from my GP. I wanted to get some advice.
Over recent months, I've ve been experiencing symptoms such as very extreme fatigue and some pain. Along with random bruising on my legs and various stomach and bowel issues, including occasional blood in stool. I used to be quite active, I still try, but it really exhausts me.
I had a private health mot to help find the issue. This showed I had an iron deficiency (non anemic), an ongoing h pylori infection and also a positive qfit of 15.8.
I reported all of these issues to my nhs GP. They gave me iron tablets and treated the h pylori infection.
But I've had conflicting opinions regarding the qfit result. The first (male) GP stated I shouldn't ignore this, and that retesting is pointless. He referred me to a female gp for a face to face inspection before a colonoscopy referral. But the female GP ordered a qfit retest. She even become quite aggressive when I mentioned the previous GP said the first test shouldn't be ignored! My second test was slightly lower, but as I understand, still positive at 10. The GP has stated this is satisfactory, even though they are measuring against the range <10.
Should I push for a colonoscopy? Or is the result low enough to ignore?
