  • Hi there Ellabella 84 and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about your past treatment for cancer and how this has affected your hair.

It sounds like you have tried a few things to try and thicken your hair but to little effect. Unfortunately hair growth can be slow following treatment and sadly sometimes it doesn't return to exactly the way it was. Some women are also put into an early menopause which can also have an impact on the hair.

Do discuss this with your doctor if you haven't already, they may also suggest running some blood tests to make sure you aren't deficient in anything that may be impacting hair growth and general health as well.

Hopefully you are also looking after yourself by following a healthy lifestyle and eating a balanced diet that ensures you are getting all the nutrients and vitamins and minerals your body needs. These also play an important role in hair growth and general health and well being.

There are various hair products on the market claiming all sorts of hair improvements including thickening of the hair. Many cancer forums have discussions about hair after cancer with various suggestions. However every one is different and what works for one person is different for someone else.

You may also find it useful to look at the information on cancer hair care a UK charity who also have specialists who can offer 1-1 advice and support.

I hope this helps and you are able to find some things to help you feel yourself again.

    Take care

    Naomi
