Lump on left side of my sons collar bone

Noticed 3 months ago, but went back through photos, it wasn’t there at all last year, but when I look through photos it’s became slightly Visable over the months and is now very visible all the time. 
he said it used to itch, refuses to wash on it as it makes him feel scared when it’s touched. Had an xray they said that was fine but recommended further investigation so he’s booked in at the child assessment unit Tuesday. Google makes me worry, but I know it could just be something not serious, just need some advice

    I am sorry to hear about this lump your son has and appreciate it must be a worry.

    Steer clear of Google for now as it can't diagnose your son or tell you what this lump is caused by. Unfortunately, it will only be once your son has been seen and possibly some more tests are carried out that you will know more about this situation.

    Lumps can have many varied causes and most won't be as serious as cancer but often further investigations are needed just to be on the safe side.

    Try and take things one step at a time for now and not overthink until you have all the facts.
