Hello
This time last year i had blood leaking from my nipple, i went to my consultant and was told it was duct ectasia, we removed this through surgery and they tested the sample and it contained 8mm of DCIS. I had to have another operation on 31st December to have the nipple completely removed, all the further results showed that it was clear and gone, i didnt even need radiotherapy. Ever since then i have been a nervous panicky mess!! i check them every month after my period and have been back several times with 'whats this' issues and everytime its been fine.
I checked them yesterday and discovered what felt like an oval bump in my 'good boob' and my lovely consultant said come in now and we can look at it, she did and said feels like a cyst but we get an ultrasound done just to be safe. During the ultrasound the person doing it checked the good boob and everything was very quick, he then moved onto the operated one and stayed a long time on one area, he then said i think we should biopsy these very small 6mm nodule. All was prepped ready to happen and then he checked again and said no i think its a harmless cyst as ive gone in closer and its now disappeared and spread out, so stopped the biopsy and suggested an MRI instead.
After i picked myself off the floor and wiped my eyes i went back to the consultant who advised against an MRI and instead a second ultrasound. I should probably mention i had an ultrasound 8 weeks prior to this appointment on both breasts and that came back clear, but this was done at another hospital and couldn't be viewed.
Im now waiting on the new ultrasound and im a mess with worry, are they doing another ultrasound because im anxious? what if they should have done a biopsy? im so confused and stressed about this. Im scared its one day going to come back bigger and badder and wipe me out and i cant sleep hardly eat and with two small children i dont want to live this way anymore.
Has anyone had the same issues im trying to think that 8 weeks ago all was fine and holding onto that, im also holding onto the fact if he had looked more closely to start a biopsy may never have been mentioned and i would have got the all clear and no follow up, are they doing it just to stop my brain going wild or do they think its worth double checking - so many confusing worrying questions
