Back pain after LLETZ

I’m on day 2 after my LLETZ procedure and didn’t have any bleeding or discharge until today. But it now looks the same as when I had the initial biopsy which I’m not worried about but did find it strange… 

I also this afternoon starting having severe back pain that has been persistent even after taking paracetamol. It is sharp pains in my lower back and also have achey legs which feel affected by the back pain. I have gone back into work today and unsure if I’ve just twinged something there or if it’s related to the LLETZ. I cannot seem to find anything online about back pain being linked.

    I can understand your concern about your back pain. It isn't a direct result of the LLETZ. It sounds like back pain related to having your back in a difficult position for a period of time during the procedure. You may have irritated your sciatic nerve in your lower back. The only time that back pain might occur is in the rare occasions that there might be an infection. This would tend to be with tummy ache though, as well as a smelly vaginal discharge, as well as back pain.

    Try and not sit for long periods, and do very slow gentle stretching from side to side. The NHS has safe back exercises you can watch on video.

    It may take a few days to settle down. If your back pain increases, changes, or doesn't ease, then do seek advice from your GP or call NHS 111 for advice.
