Liver tumour

Hello there , I’ve to see a gastroenterologist about my tumour on my liver ,having a eus which was unsuccessful and 2 CT Scans with contrast would you know what happens during an appointment with the gastroenterologist consultant please .

I had kidney cancer last year which was removed … I’m so scared now I have liver cancer.?

  • Hello and thank you for posting

I'm sorry to read about your situation. I know waiting to find out more is incredibly hard, especially after what you've already been through.

Seeing a gastroenterologist does not mean you definitely have liver cancer. They will look at your CT scans, review why the EUS wasn't successful, and explain what they think the liver tumour might be. They may arrange further tests, such as an MRI, blood tests, or a biopsy, to find out exactly what it is.

As you've had kidney cancer before, they will consider whether the liver tumour is related, but they won't know for certain without more information and tests.

I know it’s easier said than done but try and take it one step at a time until you know more. Some people find talking it through with family and friends and keeping busy can sometimes help. Also try and focus on what you can control right now by eating a good diet, getting enough rest, and doing some gentle activities that you enjoy.

I hope you know more soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
