How am i going to cope?

  • Hello Bypass Mike and thanks for your post

I'm sorry to read about your situation. You’ve had a lot going on with your multiple health conditions and now you have the added stress that you may have bowel cancer. This is a lot to process and it's understandable to feel how you may cope.

I know it's easier said than done but try and take things one day at a time until you know more.

If you go on to develop bowel cancer, most hospitals have a cancer support centre that offers information and psychological support. You can look up your nearest centre on the Macmillan website. . You may also wish to reach out to a cancer support centres such as Maggie centres that offer emotional and psychological support to people who have been affected by cancer. This can be in the form of counselling or CBT and other talking therapies. The cancer care map also lists local support services.

I hope this is of some use. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
