Pathology results

Hi 

I had surgery to remove pelvic a mass which is thought to be a re occurrence on the 18 May and I haven’t had my results yet. I had a follow up appointment booked at clinic  for the 15 July but this was booked over a week ago and they wouldn’t have received the results yet. Should I contact someone ?

    I am sorry you are waiting to hear news of possible recurrence, I appreciate this is a difficult time for you.

    It is not unusual for results to take 4-6 weeks to come back from the pathology laboratories where they check for cancer cells.

    If you do not hear anything in the next week or so you could contact your specialist nurse (CNS) or the secretary that arranged the follow up appointment.

    Hopefully you will hear soon.

    Thank you. It’s just that the oncologist consultant told me they would be in touch in 3-4 weeks.
