2 week wait - went for private ultrasound

I noticed a line shape dent in my left breast last night, which when I felt it was like a hard cord running from the side round to the other side of the nipple. 

I went to my GP today who referred me on the 2 week wait. However I couldn’t wait so booked a private ultrasound for this afternoon as couldn’t get a private mammogram. 

The ultrasound didn’t show anything to be concerned about, according to the person doing it, everything was normal. Is this a good sign or was it a waste of time doing this?

My NHS appointment isn’t until 8th July so I just need something to keep me sane for this wait. Please be honest, was the ultrasound result a good sign?

    I appreciate noticing a breast change can be a worry but there are many possible reason for lumps and most won't be cancer.

    It is reassuring to hear the ultrasound didn't pick anything up unusual but it is still important to go to the breast unit for a thorough assessment there.

    Try and keep yourself busy and your mind on other things for now. There isn't anything else you can do or anyone can say until you are seen. However do remember that most people referred to a breast unit won't have breast cancer.
