  • Hello snowhite and thank you for getting in touch,

I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing this, especially after having anal cancer in the past. It’s good that you had a complete response to treatment.

Understandably, you are feeling anxious. Waiting for tests and results can feel worrying, particularly when new symptoms like bleeding occur.

The MRI scan should help your doctors understand what might be causing the vaginal spotting. Any unexpected bleeding is always taken seriously, and given your history, your team will want to fully investigate this and make sure everything is okay.

I hope you do not have to wait too long before you get your results. In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to talk things through, please do get back in touch. Alternatively, you’re very welcome to speak with one of our nurses on the helpline. We’re here Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, on freephone 0808 800 4040.

    Take care,

    Jemma
