  • Hi xogwich and thank you for your post.

I am sorry to learn that someone close to you needs treatment for mantle cell lymphoma. I can appreciate your concerns.

R-CHOP is a mix of medicines used to treat lymphoma. It helps to shrink lumps, ease symptoms, and may help some people stay free of the illness for a long time.

These medicines work by attacking cells that grow quickly. This includes cancer cells, but also some healthy cells in the bone marrow that make your blood. Because of this, some people may need extra blood or platelets during treatment via transfusions.

Sometimes the side effects of chemotherapy, such as taste changes, and nausea can cause reduced appetite. We have some information and tips for diet problems on our website and The Christie have a webpage on eating and helping yourself during cancer treatment which you may find helpful as well.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.

It might help to talk things through with one of our nurses on the helpline. You can call for free on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

    I hope this information helps

    Kind regards,

    Tina
