Hello,
Best and only advice is to ask your chemo team, they should be able to prescribe correct medication and dosage rather than going it alone blind.Without knowing your specific condition and treatment no one should offer an option, saying this as a recovered bowel cancer to liver patient,
David
Thank you David
yes I will speak to the Nurses
He was told Ibuprofen would be ok but it’s not controlling the pain
im very concerned for my husband
Hello Shyone, and thank you for getting in touch,
I’m sorry to hear about your husband’s situation, and that his pain is not currently well-controlled.
As David has mentioned, your husband’s hospital team are best placed to advise, as they know his full medical history and current situation.
Many different types of pain relief can help with different kinds of pain. Sometimes it can take a bit of trial and error to find the right approach, as everyone responds differently. However, there is usually a way to manage pain effectively, and his team should be able to support him with this.
I hope you’re able to get further support very soon, and that your husband’s pain improves.
Please feel free to come back to us at any time. If you would prefer to speak with one of our nurses, you’re very welcome to call our helpline on 0808 800 4040, open 9am to 5pm.
Jemma
