FIT test 400

I had two FIT tests 3 weeks apart and results were 400

i have had a colonoscopy……that was clear.  Just few polyps (removed and clear).  Small diverticulum, fissures and piles.  These did not cause the bleeding.

i had an endoscopy…… four samples taken.     Clear for cancer.   Near normal results .

I wondered what the next step is please.

Thank you nannie B

  • Hi nannieB and thank you for getting in touch,

It sounds like you have been through a great deal with the tests you’ve had, so it’s completely understandable that you are now wondering what happens next, particularly as the source of the bleeding hasn’t been identified.

The fact that your tests have come back clear and no cancer was found is very reassuring. However, it can still feel frustrating and unsettling when symptoms such as bleeding don’t yet have an explanation.

As we’re not involved in your direct care and don’t have access to your full medical history or test results, we can’t say what the next steps will be for you specifically. In general, once urgent causes such as cancer have been ruled out, your hospital team or GP will usually review whether further monitoring, additional tests, referral to another specialist, or follow‑up appointments are needed.

If you are still under the hospital team, they would be the best people to explain the plan and whether any further follow‑up is needed. If you have been discharged back to your GP, it would be worth making an appointment to discuss your symptoms, how they are now, and whether any further action is needed.

I’m sorry we can’t give you a more definite answer, but I hope this helps in some way. Please do get back in touch if you have other questions.

    Kind regards,

    Jemma
