Dimple after mammogram

Ok where to start

I have been having huge health anxiety about breast cancer. So much so I got a breast health check including mammogram through Bupa and the spire. 5 days later I have noticed a little kid of dip in my outer left breast. It is not there when I lean forward or lift my arms. But it's there when I stand arms down my side. It might of always been there and I'm hyper focused on it.

I asked Google and he said that the breast health is not diagnostic and it will not be found on the mammogram. But that's what i went for to see if any early signs. Google is scary I looked at some images and it matches some. When I smooth the skin it's not there. I do have a dip in my right but was confirmed fibrodeama.

I'm worried to see the GP because they will think I'm stupid. It's like a flat tiny indent and when pressed feels hollow. Also I can pinch the skin.

Should I just wait for results as it will of been picked up by the spire.

Kind regards a very scared 48yr old who become a nana for the first time today and all this has took my happiness away

  • Hi there and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about your anxiety around breast cancer and the area that you are now worried about.

You need to try and stay clear of google as this is not going to help you in this moment. You have had a mammogram which can check for any unusual activity in the breast tissues, which is usually good enough to pick up up any area of abnormality.

Sit tight for now and await the mammogram results. If all clear but your remain concerned do speak with your GP so they can assess you and hopefully put your mind at ease.

    Take care
