Vitabiotics jointace

Hello. Can one of you lovely breast care nurses tell me if it ok to take vitabiotics jointace original supplement which includes glucosamine, chondroitin, turmeric, ginger zinc and other nutrients.  I only wish to take them short term just to help with neck joint pain. I'm  3 years into taking anastrazole and wondered if it would be compatible.

Thank you for your care.  Jan

  • Hi there Jan and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about the neck pain you are experiencing, do speak with your doctor about this if it is ongoing and causing you issues so they can assess you.

Unfortunately without being involved in your care we can't say if it is safe to take supplements alongside your anastrazole and you are best to check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any. Whilst vitamin D and calcium are often recommended and safe to take. There are some concerns over a possible interaction from some herbal supplements such as turmeric and anastrazole which may affect the drugs overall effectiveness.

Speak with your doctor or breast care team and see what they have to say.

I'm sorry if we haven't been able to help in the way you had hoped on this occasion. Do get back in touch if you have more questions, if you prefer give us a call on 0808 800 4040, we're here weekdays 9-5.

    Best wishes

    Naomi
