I'm sorry to hear about your previous treatment using efudix and the effects of this you are still experiencing in the warmer weather. Unfortunately efudix causes photosensitivity meaning the skin is even more sensitive to sunlight and this in turn can cause discoloration and a change to the natural pigmentation to the skin. It is common for the skin to redden and burn more easily in the sun.

It sounds like you are doing everything you should be by applying a high factor sunscreen and regular moisturising of the skin. It is important to cover up in the sun and heat of the day ( generally between 10-2) with a hat and loose long sleeve clothing. You may also wish to try other face creams that can help with pigmentation or make up to try and cover this over.

If you have any concerns about these skin changes do discuss it with your GP so they can assess your skin for advice and guidance.
