NAD - is it safe to take after having chemo for advanced endometrial cancer that's currently NED?

Hi is it safe to take NAD+ it is supposed to help with tiredness and libido. Since I have had endometrial stage 4 with mets to bladder and a bowel resection, I have lost m mojo. I had my last chemo April 30th 2024. My last 3,scans have been Ned. But I was told it was aggressive and there was a strong chance it would come back. NAD works on cells I am a bit concerned that it may wake up dormant cancer cells. Any advice would be welcome

  • Hi there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about your previous cancer diagnosis and treatment and the symptoms you are currently experiencing.

Unfortunately we can't advise about this NAD+ treatment as we aren't aware of this treatment.

From what I can see the research so far doesn't seem to suggest that this causes cancer. However there seems to be suggestions that patients diagnosed with cancer shouldn't have it.

We usually suggest any people who have or who have previously had cancer discuss any supplements or alternative treatments with their doctor to check it is safe to have.

Alongside this do discuss your tiredness and lack of libido so they can talk through any other things that may help with this. If these symptoms are linked to the menopause there may be things to help with this. There may be a GP in your practice who is a menopause specialist or they may be able to refer you to a specialist clinic for advice and guidance.

I hope this is helpful but do get back in touch if you have more questions. Alternatively give us a call on 0808 800 4040, we're here weekdays 9-5.

    Best wishes

    Naomi
