stage 4 cervical cancer

is it any way it can be curable

  • Hi there gab24 and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about your mam's situation, this must be such a difficult time for your family.

Unfortunately most advanced cancers that have spread to other parts of the body are difficult to cure but often treatments can be given to try and manage and control the cancer for as long as possible.

It will be the team involved in your mam's care who will be able to say what is possible in terms of treatment and what they hope the treatment will achieve for her.

Times like this are very worrying and it is important to get any help and support you need. Do look to see if there are any cancer support centres at the hospital your mam is under such as Maggies. You can also search up what is available locally by postcode on the cancer care map.

Do speak with your mam's doctor or specialist nurse if she has one with her permission when you can or attend the next appointment with her.

If you have further questions or wish to talk anything through with the nurses here do call on 0808 800 4040, we're here weekdays 9-5.

Wishing your mam all the best,

    Naomi
