Worrying ongoing cervical cancer symptoms

Ive been having some symptoms of cervical Cancer been bleeding in between periods been told it’s the mini pill and
more discharge than normal but also had lower back pain for months and its waking me up in the night. I’ve had a recent normal smear and colposcopy also a private pelvic mri. I had a hysterocropy recently to remove a polyp found on an ultrasound which was all normal and the dr also commented on the cervix and cervical canal being entirely normal, im scared i have something sinister going on higher up that isn’t visible to scans and smear like adenocarcinoma, does anyone know if there was something more going on it would be seen if it was advanced I’ve read it can hide and be diffcult to detect? I know I should listen to the gynaecologist he said he looked inside with the camera as it goes along the cervix into womb and all reported as normal. Sorry I know I sound crazy but I know my body and I’m worrying something has been missed as I have pain and have felt exhausted and tired for months now. I don’t know whether to keep pushing as I don’t feel right

  • I also have been losing blood from vaginal when having a stool movement which is really concerning

  • Hi there ccbb and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about the symptoms you are having that are causing you alot of concern. Unfortunately no one here can diagnose or say what the matter may be.

From what you have said you have had several tests and investigations that have all come back normal, which is reassuring. You would have thought if something sinister had been going on, some abnormal findings would have been highlighted.

It seems the gynaecologist has also tried to put your mind at ease and it is important to remember they are the experts in this field but if you remain concerned do go back to your doctor.

I don't think there are any more tests in the pelvis region you could have carried out currently but the doctor could assess the back pain and tiredness with other tests. They may also possibly consider referring you for a second opinion but speak with them and see what they have to say.

I hope you can get some peace of mind soon and start feeling better in yourself.

    Take care

    Naomi
