  • Hi there and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about the way you are feeling since starting chemotherapy and how it is affecting your everyday life.

It is so important you let your team know about this so they can firstly assess and help you manage any side effects you are experiencing.

It is of course your decision if you choose to stop treatment but perhaps you might consider the doctors reducing the dose or asking if a short break is possible to give you a little break.

Every patient is different and unfortunately some people do struggle more than others with treatment. Sometimes there are things that can be done to overcome these difficulties or alternative treatment options available.

If you decide to stop your treatment the side effects may continue for a short while but then should settle down. The specialist team involved in your care will be in a better position to explain what to expect moving forward and any risks so this can be a fully informed choice.

Do get in touch with your team as soon as possible to discuss this further. I hope you are feeling much better in yourself soon.

If you have more questions or wish to talk this through on the helpline our number is 0808 800 4040 and we're here weekdays 9-5.

    Take care

    Naomi
